Promiseland
Volunteer Responsibilities

For Volunteers

(Babies)

1.  To take care of yourself (physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually)
2.  To identify curriculum that supports our vision, objectives, and values
3.  To know the environment (safe? child-friendly? aesthetically pleasing?)
4.  To implement the volunteer schedule (after Jessica organizes it)
5.  To encourage volunteers who serve with you (email, phone, notes, etc.)
6.  To be the “contact” person for parental questions or concerns
7.  To integrate parents/families 1x/semester (e.g., lunch together)
8.  To participate in our Promiseland meetings (1x / month)
9.  To encourage parents (via phone) to attend trainings, seminars, etc.
10. To celebrate the children’s birthdays

(Tiny Tots)

1. Pray with other volunteers (before parents/tiny tots arrive).
2. Greet Families.
3. Sign child(ren) in/attendance and register visitors.
4. Pass out nametags for children and parents.
5. Play.
6. Change diaper as needed.
7. Snack given at the half to three quarters way through time.
8. Clean up toys.
9. Collect nametags at “pickup.”
10. “Good-byes” and “blessings” to parents/children.
11. Take cups to kitchen sink and wash.
12. Turn off lights.
13. In Winter, please make sure doors are closed.

(Preschool)

1. Arrive 15 minutes early.
2. Pray with other volunteers (before parents/children arrive).
3. Greet Families.
4. Sign child(ren) in/attendance and register visitors.
5. Pass out nametags for children and parents.
6. Play.
7. Take to restroom as needed.
8. Praise and bible lesson (integrate with arts and crafts).
9. Play.
10. Clean up toys.
11. Snack given at three quarters way through time.
12. Collect nametags at “pickup.”
13. “Good-byes” and “blessings” to parents/children.
14. Take cups to kitchen sink and wash.
15. Turn off lights.
16. In Winter, please make sure doors are closed.

For Coordinators

(Babies, Tiny Tots, Pre-School, Sunday School)

1.  To take care of yourself (physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually)
2.  To identify curriculum that supports our vision, objectives, and values

For Sunday School Teachers

(Kindergarten thru 5th grade)

1.  To take care of yourself (physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually)
2.  To pray for each child (salvation, praise, prayer, scriptures)
3.  To prepare diligently (develop lesson plans and take notes)
4.  To listen to the “heartbeat” (hurts, joys, issues, etc.) of each child
5.  To create an environment (safe, child-friendly, aesthetically pleasing)
6.  To be the “contact” person for parental questions or concerns
7.  To integrate parents/families 1x/semester (e.g., lunch together)
8.  To encourage parents (via phone) to attend trainings, seminars, etc. 
9.  To take attendance (know who’s absent and why) 
10.  To celebrate the children’s birthdays
